Kiev Animal Shelter

For nearly fifteen years, Naturewatch Foundation has supported an animal rescue centre in Kiev, Ukraine, called the Kyiv Society for the Protection of Animals ‘SOS’(SPA-SOS). The shelter is a peaceful haven for hundreds of abandoned and injured animals, and is tucked away near the edge of the city, surrounded by beautiful woodland.

In September 2009 I had the pleasure of visiting the shelter and what struck me the most was how happy and relaxed the dogs are.

Whilst visiting the shelter, the pack behaviour that I observed confirmed all that Amichien Bonding recognises and works with, whilst highlighting how our human instincts play such a huge role in our domestic dog’s unsociable behaviour.
