My rescue dog

Dina and Mollie, two dogs from Buhusi Zoo in Romanian, were given a second chance in October 2008, thanks to a rescue project between the Born Free Foundation, UK TV presenter James Lewis and Jan Fennell, the Dog Listener.

Dina in the Romanian ZooVirginia McKenna (Founder & Trustee of the Born Free Foundation) knew Dina and Mollie would need help to adjust to family life once they arrived in the UK, and so approached Jan Fennell knowing her Amichien® bonding method would offer them their best chance of rehabilitating successfully into their new domestic world.

Dina and Mollie rescued from the ZooOnce safely in the UK, Dina came to live with Mark and I. We were only fostering her to begin with but despite her often challenging behaviour we soon grew to love her and decided to make her a permanent member of our family.

relaxing with the family

At first she wouldn’t come out from under the stairs and it took three days for her to build up the courage to come upstairs to the living room with us, but thanks to Amichien® bonding she’s now thoroughly enjoying family life.

Running free on the beachLoud noises and open fires don’t worry anymore, she’s much braver around new people she meets, she loves to go for long walks through local woodland and the surrounding countryside, she’s got a real taste for home-baked dog biscuits, and she loves nothing more than to sit on the sofa with us for a belly rub. We consider ourselves so lucky to have such a wonderful dog in our lives!
